Emelia began her dance training at the Dancers Workshop at the age of 4. Upon joining Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre, she performed many roles with them both in the Nutcracker and in mixed rep programs, including choreography by Edgar Anido, Blakely White-McGuire, Julia Mayo, and Charlotte Boye-Christensen.
Emelia spent the last 2 years of her training with instructors Sally Rojas, Claudio Munoz, and Susan Bryant at the Houston Ballet Academy. There she performed choreography by Stanton Welsh, Ben Stevenson, Claudio Munoz, Jane Weiner and John Neumeier.
After graduating from the highest level of the Houston Ballet Academy, Emelia signed her first contract to join Kansas City Ballet as a trainee in their second company. During her time with KCB, Emelia performed Devon Carney’s Nutcracker in the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., George Balanchine’s Diamonds and had a pas de deux created for her by Ryan Nye for their second company production. In 2018, Emelia joined the studio company of Sarasota Ballet where she performed works of Sir Frederick Aston, Sir Peter Wright and Martha Graham. In 2019, Emelia advanced to the level of Apprentice with Sarasota.
